A Queensland court has heard a woman, who was behind the wheel of a stolen car when it struck and killed a police officer on a highway north of Brisbane, allegedly swerved to hit him as a "scare tactic".
Skye Anne Wallis and Kari O'Brien are currently facing a committal in the magistrates court in Brisbane, on charges of murder, arson and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
Queensland Police Service Senior Constable David Masters was killed as he was laying road spikes on the Bruce Highway.

Ms Wallis was driving and Ms O'Brien was the passenger in a stolen car, when it hit and killed Senior Constable David Masters, who was laying tyre spikes in an attempt to stop the vehicle on the Bruce Highway at Burpengary in June 2021.
On Monday, one of the lead detectives investigating the officer's death, Detective Senior Sergeant Justin Anderson, gave evidence.
He was questioned by Ms Wallis's defence lawyer, Malcolm Harrison, about the evidence of one of the witnesses in the case, Anthony Francis.

The court heard Mr Francis told police he had a conversation with the women, and Ms O'Brien had allegedly told him Ms Wallis "swerved at the copper to try and get him to drop the spikes as a scare tactic".
"Skye [then] came out and said 'I've done it 100 times before, I've done it 100 times before, where I've swerved and they just drop the spike strip and they jump out of the way'," Detective Senior Sergeant Justin Anderson relayed to the court.
Skye Anne Wallis remains in custody over the incident.

A man who was travelling in the car behind the pair said he saw the vehicle swerve suddenly before the crash.
"It was a very, very violent swerve," Leif Hass told the court.
"It was close enough in front of me that I could see the impact and a hell of a lot of debris flying in the air."
Kari O'Brien was released on bail last month.
A sergeant who worked as a forensic crash investigator at the time of the incident told the court the pair were estimated to be travelling at a speed of 147 to 153 kilometres per hour when they struck the police officer.
Ms Wallis remains in custody but last month, after spending almost three years in custody, Ms O'Brien made her first application for bail, which was granted.
Senior Constable Masters's family was in court for the matter, wearing blue ribbons in his honour.
The committal was set to run for five days but is now expected to wrap up on Tuesday.
