'All Access' video: White says Rousey would likely be first female UFC fighter

Showtime debuted the first installment of the two-part “All Access: Ronda Rousey” series on Wednesday night.

The entire half-hour episode is now available for online viewing.

Many notables appear in the special, including UFC President Dana White, who made a bold prediction about Rousey’s future, which could be in the UFC octagon.

“In the next 10 years, if there’s a woman in the octagon, it’s probably going to be Ronda Rousey,” White said during the show.

In fact, White, who shot down any prospects of female fighters competing in the UFC as recently as a few years ago, said the current class of female fighters has forced him to take a different mindset. Specifically, Rousey’s March title win over then-champ Miesha Tate was the most eye-opening.

“There have been great fighters before Ronda Rousey,” White said. “Gina Carano is beautiful. Cris ‘Cyborg’ (Santos) is incredibly talented and goes in and wrecks people.

“But what changed me and what I think changed a lot of people about women’s MMA was Tate vs. Rousey. That was a fight worthy of a men’s fight: two incredibly talented women who are very well-rounded, and it doesn’t hurt when they’re beautiful too.”

Check out the entire “All Access” episode above, which previews the Aug. 18 title fight with Rousey (5-0 MMA, 3-0 SF) and former champ Sarah Kaufman (15-1 MMA, 6-1 SF). Other guest appearances come from Kaufman, Carano and Julie Kedzie, who all discuss the rise of women’s MMA in recent years.

The second part of “All Access: Ronda Rousey” debuts this coming Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime.
