Nam Tae-hee officially signs for Valenciennes
Valenciennes of Ligue 1 held an official signing day with Nam Tae-hee yesterday. In keeping with FIFA’s rules, the club waited until after Nam’s birthday (July 3), to announce the signing.
The 18-year-old is the youngest Korean football player to sign with a European club. He will wear the number 19 for the French club.
Nam has a shot at making an appearance as early as Aug. 8, when the Ligue 1 season kicks off.
“I never thought I would be able to play in Europe this soon. I’m happy to have achieved my dream. I know it’s a big responsibility and since this is merely the beginning, I will work hard to achieve my goals,” said Nam.
Nam will play in Ligue 1 alongside national team forwards Park Chu-young and Lee Keun-ho. Park joined AS Monaco last September and Lee recently joined Paris St. Germain.
