$ 는 通話記號 가운데 하나로, 달러 記號 또는 페소 記號 라고 부른다.

$는 18世紀 말 스페인 과 멕시코 의 페소 를 標示하기 위한 記號로 처음 쓰였다. 以後 1785年 에 美國 달러 를 表記하는 記號로 採擇되었다.
