  • The Path of History – A Bridge Between the Past and the Future

East Wing 1F Permanent Exhibition Hall

The Path of History – "The Path of History" is the bridge that connects the past and the future is a space that efficiently manages the movements of visitors as well as a bridge that connects the lives of Koreans living in modern times and history. Visitors can easily go to and from each exhibition room through the Path to History without restrictions on the first, second, and third floors, regardless of direction. Visitors may come and go between exhibition rooms on the left and right sides by bridges in the middle.

  • Great Hall (Information)

East Wing 1F, Entrance to the Permanent Exhibition Hall

The Great Hall, making up the Museum lobby, acts as a graceful lead-in to the interior, a resting area, a meeting point, and a connection between exhibition galleries.

  • Beogeum Hall – Aesthetic space with straight lines and curves

The lobby leading to the grand theater “Yong” on the 4th floor of the West Wing (the 2nd floor of the exhibition areas)

Beogeum Hall – As an aesthetic space made up of straight lines and curves, it is located in the lobby leading to the grand theater “Yong” on the 4th floor of the West Wing (the 2nd floor of the Exhibition Hall). Coupled with the Great Hall, which is the axis of the East Wing, it stands as a leading structure of the museum and plays the role as the center of the West Wing. Leaving the fourth and fifth floors untouched, it has an open space between the ceiling. It is designed to be harmonized within the tension between straight lines and curves. Its diameter is 12 m, which is a little bit smaller than Great Hall. Still, it displays the most complicated structure among many spaces in the museum. The outer wall is connected to the interior of the building and the lobby of Children's Museum on the lower floor is open. Overall, it is a place where refined and diverse structural aesthetics can be appreciated.
