Semiwon Garden is a water garden surrounded by Paldangho Lake to the 3 sides, filled with wonderful things to see such as a traditional Asian garden and water plants. Jeong Yak-yong built a pontoon bridge on Namhangang River where the width of a river becomes narrow in Yangju, and this is where Semiwon Garden of today is located. By connecting Semiwon Garden and Dumulmeori, people are able to enjoy the riverside while not destroying the environment.
As such, you can sense a hint of nature and water flowing at Semiwon Garden. It is a place where people experimented to see how we can efficiently are for the land of Korea, which is not very big, and attempted to build Hangang River as the lifeline of the people, both in name and reality. Also, it is being firmly established as a space of culture and arts as well as the breath of our history through activity events and building various facilities such as Lotus Flower Museum, green house of water lilies, and Seokchangwon, the acorus gramineus garden.
